Schools closing, long vacation and the little minds wandering at home.

📝 Make a plan. Include that which your kids love (every child is unique).
For example : Read a story, learn an ayah, go for a walk etc.
The simpler the better.

🎨 Buy some art kits, clay dough, color pencils, coloring books, word search books, puzzles, story books whatever suits your kids age and likes. These can engage them every day for a long time.

👩‍💻 Search online for easy craft ideas and explore with children.

🖌 Collect glass bottles to paint on, reuse cereal boxes, tissue boxes and so on to make new stuff. Kids love creativity.

🧸 Take out all those toys hiding inside the toy box for ages and see the happiness when the child discovers these are still alive.

🧹 Engage them in household chores like cleaning, wiping, folding clothes, making shopping lists etc. according to their age and capability.
We are therefore bringing up responsible human beings.

🥪 Find out recipes they love to eat and help them try it out. It will make them proud and at the same time give them a feeling of satisfaction.

🏡 Holidays are the best time to unclutter. Dresses, toys, shoes, bags no matter what, do it with your kids. I bet you will be living in a much better place soon. Make sure you give away the stuff which are in good condition to charity and inculcate the happiness of sharing in the growing minds.

📖 Perfect time to introduce something new or interesting which creates excitement. Short courses to learn a new language, stitching, art or simply online tutorials teaching doodle drawings, calligraphy…are few of them.
You know your child better.

💻 There are a lot of sources from homeschool bloggers about teaching Islam in an interactive way at home. Take advantage of it.

🍒 Stocking on healthy snacks are a must during holidays. As we all know when you are bored you are hungry.

👩‍👧‍👦 Last but not the least, remember this is the time you get with your child to rebuild the bond. Seize the opportunity.

May Allah keep us all safe and help up us bring up beautiful human beings...
Ameen 💗

The Tarbiya

I am trying to grab words and put it together to express my amazement as a mother. I saw a video of a small boy reciting shahada to his little sister on her death bed, a little girl keeping her wasiya (declaration a person makes whilst alive regarding their property), toddlers staying strong after losing parents... If Allah made us witness these then definitely it is for a reason.  How did these mothers achieve to plant such strong, calm, brave, beautiful souls filled with Imaan?  The foundation of Tawakkul. The ability to see hereafter in front of their eyes with yaqeen. The amount of sabr. The smile of contentment. The dhikr of Allah in a very difficult situation. We are struggling, planning, learning, taking notes on how to become a better parent. Subhan Allah!!  These children and their parents living and the shaheed have shown us what is the  REAL TARBIYA or in simple words nurturing. May Allah forgive us our shortcomings and help us fulfill the responsibility he has placed on our

✨Reflections

Before I forget, I wanted to pen down these reflections for myself to review later and I thought it might be beneficial to others if Allah wills. Today's Friday khutuba recording was about Surah Maryam.  ✨First Reflection The Imam spoke about how Zecharia (as) made a private dua asking Allah to grant him an heir from Allah Himself and pleasing to Allah. And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir Maryam 19:6 يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَۖ وَٱجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا  Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]." How a dua becomes so beautiful when you are asking Allah for something, which is again for Allah!! ✨Second Reflection How a baby is born without a father. Once again, a miracle that shows the omnipotence of Allah. Maryam (as), w
