And another year...

The world was so excited and anticipating the arrival of 2020.
But as the pandemic kept spreading we hardly noticed the whole year just flew by, and here we are already standing at the edge of it still finding it difficult to believe 2020 is ending.
Indeed it is very sad we lost so many of our friends and relatives in a year and it is only by Allah’s mercy that we are still breathing. Alhamdulillah!!

Let’s try and reflect on the year 2020

😧We are completely helpless.
The situation around the world proved to us once again that man is helpless without his Lord. We realized once more Allah controls us, the world and everything else.

🧼Importance of Hygiene
Washing hand with soap and using sanitizers have become the new norm. At all time whether we are in a pandemic era or not, clean habits always helps.

🤷‍♂Human beings are social animals
Yes we learned this in our school days, but we actually felt it today when we were not allowed to mingle with others and had to stay isolated.

👩‍💻Technology a Blessing
The technology turned out to be a boon for us during the pandemic. Schools, offices, groceries even doctor consultations were done using video calls.

🎨Hidden Talents
Many of us had so many ideas or desire to do something or learn something which we kept procrastinating due to lack of time. When the chant of “I am busy” took a pause, we all got the chance to explore into the creative side of ours.

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦Family time
Children are definitely going to remember this time for their entire life. The lockdown gifted them and us a whole lot of love and attention we all were craving for deep inside.

🧹We can survive without domestic helpers
We did our cooking, cleaning and laundry all on our own.
Yes we did. It wasn’t easy but not impossible for sure.

😷Blessings we never noticed
We have been taking a whole lot of blessings for granted. Breathing the fresh air without a face mask, walking with friends, shopping out and many more to mention.
All thanks and praise be to Allah.

On a positive note, we remember
🌍“Everything in this world is temporary”
This phase too shall pass with the help of Allah.

The Tarbiya

I am trying to grab words and put it together to express my amazement as a mother. I saw a video of a small boy reciting shahada to his little sister on her death bed, a little girl keeping her wasiya (declaration a person makes whilst alive regarding their property), toddlers staying strong after losing parents... If Allah made us witness these then definitely it is for a reason.  How did these mothers achieve to plant such strong, calm, brave, beautiful souls filled with Imaan?  The foundation of Tawakkul. The ability to see hereafter in front of their eyes with yaqeen. The amount of sabr. The smile of contentment. The dhikr of Allah in a very difficult situation. We are struggling, planning, learning, taking notes on how to become a better parent. Subhan Allah!!  These children and their parents living and the shaheed have shown us what is the  REAL TARBIYA or in simple words nurturing. May Allah forgive us our shortcomings and help us fulfill the responsibility he has placed on our

✨Reflections

Before I forget, I wanted to pen down these reflections for myself to review later and I thought it might be beneficial to others if Allah wills. Today's Friday khutuba recording was about Surah Maryam.  ✨First Reflection The Imam spoke about how Zecharia (as) made a private dua asking Allah to grant him an heir from Allah Himself and pleasing to Allah. And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir Maryam 19:6 يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَۖ وَٱجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا  Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]." How a dua becomes so beautiful when you are asking Allah for something, which is again for Allah!! ✨Second Reflection How a baby is born without a father. Once again, a miracle that shows the omnipotence of Allah. Maryam (as), w
