It's that time of the year again … peace, happiness, and excitement filling the hearts already.
May Allah help us be consistent throughout Ramadan. Ameen!
During this month, there is a drastic change in our daily routines and sometimes our responsibilities as a wife, daughter, or mother take away a big portion of the day, leaving us feeling guilty for not using time wisely.
Fulfilling our duties in Dunya and at the same time being able to do enough ibadah can be achieved only with the help of Allah (ุณُุจْุญَุงَُูู َู ุชَุนَุงَูู). Here are some tips that might help you strike that balance:
๐ Make lots of dua that Allah (ุณُุจْุญَุงَُูู َู ุชَุนَุงَูู) makes it easy for you, and that you are able achieve satisfaction in your actions.
๐ Remember: without health, nothing is possible. Make sure that you drink lots of water, get some sleep, and not overeat at iftar.
๐ Spread the excitement. Talk about Ramadan to your kids even if they are very young and make them understand this is a BIG deal.
๐ Whatever you are doing, make an intention that you are doing it for Allah,as it’s an obligation Allah (ุณُุจْุญَุงَُูู َู ุชَุนَุงَูู) has placed upon you. Ask Allah (ุณُุจْุญَุงَُูู َู ุชَุนَุงَูู) to reward you for it, and in this manner, every single action will become part of your duty as Allah’s slave!
๐ Keep reminding yourself that days are passing and that every second matters.
๐ Do not worry about the weather, long fasts, and how you will cope with the hunger while continuing all the work. Ramadan is a month full of blessings and Allah (ุณُุจْุญَุงَُูู َู ุชَุนَุงَูู) makes everything easy during this month. Remember:
َูุง َُُِّูููู ุงَُّููู َْููุณًุง ุฅَِّูุง ُูุณْุนََูุง
“Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear…”
(Qur’an 2:286)
๐ When you are in the kitchen or doing other household chores, try listening to a good lecture or some Qur’an with translation. If that doesn’t seem to work for you, do dhikr of Allah (ุณُุจْุญَุงَُูู َู ุชَุนَุงَูู) in your heart.
๐ Don’t overburden yourself. Keep goals which you feel you can accomplish.
๐ Remember this lovely hadith: “Every act of kindness is charity”.
As women, we might have our limitations but it’s not just about giving money as charity. Whether it is by cooking for a people who are fasting, or being generous to the elderly, find your own way of being helpful to earn rewards.
๐ Don’t compare your deeds with your friend’s. Each one has a different family and different responsibilities.
๐ Life does not stop during Ramadan, it just starts with a new chapter – a chapter of love, peace, discipline, mercy, and lots of positivity.
May Allah (ุณُุจْุญَุงَُูู َู ุชَุนَุงَูู) help us see this Ramadan and make use of it in the best way possible.
