✨Reflections

Before I forget, I wanted to pen down these reflections for myself to review later and I thought it might be beneficial to others if Allah wills. Today's Friday khutuba recording was about Surah Maryam.  ✨First Reflection The Imam spoke about how Zecharia (as) made a private dua asking Allah to grant him an heir from Allah Himself and pleasing to Allah. And indeed, I fear the successors after me, and my wife has been barren, so give me from Yourself an heir Maryam 19:6 يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَۖ وَٱجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا  Who will inherit me and inherit from the family of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, pleasing [to You]." How a dua becomes so beautiful when you are asking Allah for something, which is again for Allah!! ✨Second Reflection How a baby is born without a father. Once again, a miracle that shows the omnipotence of Allah. Maryam (a...

🌙Ramadan Nafs Challenge

The days are coming closer and our excitement is rising. We all by now know, fasting is not just about abstaining from food and drink but striving to better ourselves. وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّاهَا By the soul and (by) Him who made it perfect, and then inspired it to understand what is wrong and what is right for it. Truly is successful the one who purifies (his soul) (Qur’an 91:7-9)   The verse just lays bare our motto. But cleansing our nafs is a challenge indeed. The struggle of one individual will be completely different from the other. I might be striving to be patient with my children while you are striving to start wearing hijab or may be trying to stop backbiting. I guess intention is what matters – as long as we are working to please Allah we are doing it right. Let us try to analyse ourselves to change into a better human being through Allah’s Help. 🔅Only Allah  (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) knows you b...

Beyond Her Veil

Who is she behind her veil? An oppressed, sad lady following the cultural laws to survive? We see the whole world trying to help Muslim woman get out of the prison of hijab, right? If a woman wears her veil for the right reasons, it is completely a different story. She feels liberated, confident, comfortable, strong and happy. The happiness and comfort level increases as her love for her Lord increases, and how does that happen? Through knowledge. The only way we can improve ourselves is through knowledge, and gaining knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim.   We have been hearing this word “Hijab” and the controversies revolving around it a lot recently. As Muslim women, we should know what exactly “The Hijab” is. Even if you are not a person who observes it, it is essential to know what it actually is. Many people give their definitions of hijab, of which some are funny, some baseless, and some pathetic. What does Islam teach us about hijab? Why do women wear a hijab? Is it a...

Before Ramadan ends...

As the moon diminishes little by little every night our hearts ache to think Ramadan is leaving us way too soon. As we approach the remaining days of this beautiful month I would like to remind myself and other Muslimahs to keep trying because Allah is definitely seeing our efforts. We cannot keep aside our responsibilities, our families and unexpected stuff that come in between. "Not a leaf falls but that He knows it." " (6:59) then what makes us think Allah doesn't know our situation. We are exactly where Allah want us to be. With Allah's help we can do much more than we think we can. Let us pray we all have the health, barakah in our time and we be able to utilize these days as much as we can. Always remember "It's not how you start the race but how you end the race that matters " https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1751027894975787&id=125140660897860

Embracing Ramadan in its true spirit

We enter the month of Ramadan with a lot of joy and excitement in our hearts, but we Muslim mummies also have anxiety deep inside about how to manage home, kids, school, iftars and suhoors, and not to forget taraweeh. This is the time that calls for effective planning and efficient usage of time. Planning always makes affairs smooth, but we also have to keep in mind that everything might not go as per plan. This is the reason why we must have realistic goals and understand that Ramadan is first and foremost a time for ibadah. To make the most of this blessed month, here are a few things we can do that’ll help us reap maximum rewards, while keeping us positively charged : 1. The first step is of course, to make sincere dua to Allah to make our affairs easy. Accept the fact that Allah has placed us exactly where we need to be, and Allah is all knowing. This will help us in getting rid of any unnecessary anxiety and pressure. 2. Ramadan is indeed the month of mercy, and its blessings re...

Ramadan and YOU!!

It's that time of the year again … peace, happiness, and excitement filling the hearts already. As we enter this month, we have lots of goals in mind and are full energy. But after a week or so, the spirit reduces. May Allah help us be consistent throughout Ramadan. Ameen! During this month, there is a drastic change in our daily routines and sometimes our responsibilities as a wife, daughter, or mother take away a big portion of the day, leaving us feeling guilty for not using time wisely. Fulfilling our duties in Dunya and at the same time being able to do enough ibadah can be achieved only with the help of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى). Here are some tips that might help you strike that balance: 🌙 Make lots of dua that Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى) makes it easy for you, and that you are able achieve satisfaction in your actions. 🌙 Remember: without health, nothing is possible. Make sure that you drink lots of water, get some sleep, and not overeat at iftar. 🌙 Spread the ...
